“German” enriches singer’s career

Cathrin singer, a young table tennis player from altenkunstadt, experienced a special event when she took part in the german championships for schoolchildren in dissen in lower saxony.
On two days these championships were held in singles and doubles. With the late double winner annett kaufmann and the double runner-up charlotte schonau, cathrin singer had two excellent opponents in her group, who also won first and second place in this group and qualified for the final round.

Group opponents too strong

The player from altenkunstadt won against lilian nicodemus from post-SV muhlhausen with 3:0 (11:7, 11:6, 11:4), but against the strong playing kaufmann she lost in three sets with 10:12, 5:11, 3:11 and against schonau after a rough fight (11:7, 8:11, 8:11, 11:13) she got the short end of the stick and remained third in her group.
The doubles were much more successful for singer and her partner amelie fischer from TSV untergroningen. The two schoolgirls harmonized excellently and progressed to the final round after winning two matches.

Out in the quarterfinals in doubles

Here they advanced to the round of the best eight with a 3:2 win in the eighth final. However, singer/fischer missed the semifinals with a narrow and avoidable defeat.
So in the end a good fifth place for the talent from altenkunstadt in the doubles was the result.
But the german championship was an enrichment of her table tennis career for the TTV schoolgirl. These two days in dissen in lower saxony will long remain in the memory of the young woman from altenkunstadt. In any case, she sold herself excellently and represented the colors of the district of lichtenfels very well.
